Rooms & Accommodation
The Cocoon Hostel has one air-conditioned dormitory with 8 beds, each with a privacy curtain, reading light and two pillows. Every bed also has universal plugs, USB ports and a locker for a 35-litre bag. Private bathrooms, hair dryers and a sand-washing station at the entrance are part of the property.
Food & Drink
A self-service breakfast station provides bread, cereal, jam, milk, tea and coffee. The kitchenette has a fridge, microwave, toaster and air fryer for guest use. The on-site bar sells beers and drinks, and the lounge holds bean bags, books and a ukulele.
Leisure & Entertainment
Evening entertainment includes movie nights, pub crawls, walking tours and happy hour. The games room has board games and puzzles, and the shared lounge/TV area offers a smart TV with Netflix. Free drinking water is available.

The hostel sits on Koh Samet's main street, a 5-minute walk from the pier and an 8-minute walk from Sai Kaew Beach. Three 7-Eleven shops are within walking distance, and a scooter rental operates next door. The property offers laundry service, parking and an auto-locking front door.

Owned by British-Thai couple Nick and May, The Cocoon Hostel was built from a former backpacker's list of every annoyance found in hostels. Nick has written a Koh Samet travel guide and website with recommendations on boat trips, beaches, street food and scooter hire. Guests can join hiking trips organised with other backpackers staying at the hostel.
